Ano ba talaga, Ate?!
I scored an average of 4.52
This result can also be related to the Kinsey Scale:
0 = exclusively heterosexual
1 = predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual
2 = predominantly heterosexual, but more
than incidentally homosexual
3 = equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 = predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally
heterosexual
5 = predominantly homosexual, incidentally heterosexual
6 = exclusively homosexual
Summary
The idea of this excercise is to understand exactly how dynamic a person's sexual orientation can be, as well as how fluid it can be over a person's lifespan. While a person's number of actual homo/heterosexual encounters may be easy to categorize, their actual orientation may be completely different. Simple labels like "homosexual", "heterosexual", and "bisexual" need not be the only three options available to us.
O KAYO NAMAN ANG MAG TEST!
Kakila-kilabot
Imagine waking up in the morning, you look out of your window and see 3 men in military camo with long arms, M16s. You are in Manila, in the heart of it and you blink once, twice... to make sure you are NOT in some war-torn country.
The smell of someone's breakfast on the stove brings you back to your senses, tuyo't sinangag, your stomach rumbles, you still see soldiers in battle gear, within spitting distance. The urge to spit becomes an afterthought as you try to find some sense in the unfolding surreal tableaux.
Read more about it, soldiers at your doorstep in time for the elections. We had a taste of the Garci tapes before and now the pièce de résistance, mixed greens with a side dish of gunpowder. LET US VOTE, PEOPLE and VOTE WISELY!

Bring back the funk!
The New Mastersounds got me shimmying. Siguro dala na rin itong EDAD at sobrang pakikinig ng electronic music. I suddenly felt so thirsty for good old funk and jazz! Good to hear someone actually banging on a drum and slapping bass strings there.
Pinoy jazz freaks would find Tokyo a paradise, despite the techno-saturated image of this city, traditional things still abound and I guess that is what makes Tokyo tick. Walk around town and you'll still come across live jazz joints, yung pinaka mahal ay yung Blue Note Tokyo, at yung Cotton Club.
Would definitely recommend this new album by The New Mastersounds - An Introduction To The NEW MASTERSOUNDS

Time is On my Hands

I just realized I have been juggling between several books. Re-reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez' and reading Carson McCullers' - Collected Stories, Jared Diamond - Guns, Germs and Steel , Hillary Rodham Clinton - Living History, Edward P. Jones - The Known World , Edward Said - Culture and Imperialism , Kazuo Ishiguro - The Remains Of The Day; and an interesting Pinoy book edited by Emmie Velarde, Aparador ni Lola. They are strewn about the flat, the academic books taking me ages to read and finish, like Edward Said's, I am stuck at the Introduction. To read his work is like going to your favorite class, you become engrossed until you think about your school sweetheart.
There was one book supposedly in the list which I devoured quickly, Radclyffe Hall - The Well Of Loneliness. Written in 1928 and banned for decades, this was one book that I wished I'd read when I was in High School! It might have fast-forwarded my "coming-of-age".
"The sex is in the heel" - Lola

I have a penchant for movies about transgenders, transvestites, and transsexuals perhaps from watching movies of Fefita Fofonggay in my formative years. The movies are not all entertaining or fun, some are tragic, like the Crying Game; but all of them memorable especially the ones with a great soundtrack, like Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
So I saw another movie last weekend, "Kinky Boots" which was based on a true story of a shoe factory that pulled itself up by its bootstraps by catering to a niche market, in the movie it was creating women's shoes for men who wear them, but reality was not as fantastic as the movie since the shoe factory catered to the sex industry.
Nevertheless, Lola, the drag queen portrayed by one of my fave actors, Chiwetel Ejiofor was marvelous! The only boots I have worn in my life were the black rubber galoshes in Manila and then I went on to owning a pair of 8-hole Doc Martens. Kinky boots are out of the question, they would not even get past my knees!
Huhh?!
Not fully awake but aware that my throat was dry and it felt sore, and that somewhere in my head was a small stirring, a headache set to bother me the whole day, I reached overhead for the alarm clock to check the time... HUHHHHH?! 9:00AM !!
(bloody hell, I am late!) -- I thought!
Then a giggle and..."Dooyoubi desu!" and more giggles, and I joined her as we laughed out loud in the futon... It's Saturday, what was I thinking?!
